Triadic Color Scheme Sample

Thank you for your papers and your Wallpaper Pattern work. I’ll say it again, overall your Wallpaper Pattern compositions are some of the best that I have seen. We will make the adjustments necessary for horizontal and vertical alignment when we produce them digitally in Adobe Illustrator.

I believe that we are progressing in our critiquing skills, well done!

To see the Color Scheme images we looked at in class click on the appropriate title found under the category “IMAGE RESOURCES” on the right hand column of this class blog. The title name for the Lesson 4 imagery is “Color Schemes”.

HOMEWORK ASSIGNMENT REVIEW:

Reading Assignment:

Pages  252 – 287  in your textbook.

Reflection Assignment:

Write a reflection in your own words that answers one of the following questions. Please make sure you have included the question you are writing about. Your reflection should be a professional looking document –it should be typed, with complete sentences and correct grammar and spelling

1. What type of interior (venue) do you visualize your wallpaper pattern to hang and what color palette or color scheme do you think would be suitable for this interior.

a. Explain why you made the choices you did by giving examples.

 2. Of the color schemes we reviewed in class, which color scheme appeals to you the most?

a. Explain why you made your choice.

Color Mixing Assignment:

If you are so inclined and can purchase white acrylic paint, please finish your color wheel. We will be painting color schemes next week.

Wallpaper Color Research Assignment:

Research color schemes and/or color palettes to explore various color combinations that would be suitable for your wallpaper pattern.

FOR THE CLASS SESSION NEXT WEEK:

1. Come prepared for a quiz on your reading assignments.

2. Bring your red, blue and yellow acrylic paint and brushes to class along with your other class supplies and be prepared to work with traditional media.

3. Homework is due at the beginning of class.

3. Class will begin with a quiz on your textbook readings.

4. If you have not done so, please bring in the signed agreement form that is attached to the back of the Course Information document.
